Maeve (They/Them) is a NMHU graduate with a masters degree in counseling. Maeve employs a multimodal approach as they do not believe that “one size fits all” in therapy. Maeve is currently honing their clinical foundation with a focus on trauma informed approaches such as CBT, NARM, and psychodrama.
Maeve endeavors to create an authentic therapeutic environment that is welcoming, warm & not overly clinical. As someone with their own intersecting marginalized identities, Maeve hopes to offer a queer, trans, ethically non-monogamous, kink, POC, HAES, and neurodivergent affirming space. Maeve believes in the healing power of helping clients find alternatives to negative interaction cycles. They hope to help clients in cultivating a lifestyle that promotes the client’s own happiness, comfort, and wellbeing (even if this falls outside of the expectations of our culture.)
Feminist theory influences Maeve’s counseling perspective via the recognition of the depth that overarching societal and cultural systems can impact the people living within them. Maeve hopes to one day specialize in offering inclusive psychoeducation-based sex therapy to marginalized communities.
