Kylan (they/them) is a master’s student and counseling intern from Southwestern College where they are also pursuing a certificate in human sexuality. They are a neurodivergent, queer, plant lover whose work is rooted in disability justice, decolonization, harm reduction, and radical acceptance. Kylan understands that healing is a lifelong journey built on a solid foundation of self-love and empowerment. Acting as an accomplice, Kylan follows the client’s lead, drawing out their strengths to help them create new ways of being in the world.
A perpetual student, Kylan seeks to understand through compassionate curiosity and dialectical thinking, minimizing the need to be right in order to remain fully present for their clients. Their developing approach is relational, intersectional, and trauma-informed; aimed at helping clients better understand themselves within the context of their environment. They believe that the transformational nature of healing creates ripples which radiate outward, cultivating more space in which to recognize our shared humanity.
