
James Sims (she/her) has been working and advocating in the mental health field for over 16 years, with a passion for supporting youth and young adults. She has worked with adults and youth across all identities and backgrounds. She obtained her Master of Social Work from the University of Denver (2006) and her LMSW in New Mexico (1/2025). James was raised around the Southwest & Hawai’i, and identifies as feminist, queer, and anti-racist.
Her therapeutic focus includes mindfulness-based interventions, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with person centered, strength based, and somatic oriented approaches. She is committed to serving the community to help people access inner healing and positive mental health. James creates a supportive, collaborative environment to encourage growth + celebrate each person’s unique resilience. Outside of work she spends time in Northern New Mexico’s beautiful land and water.
