Melissa’s (she/her) practice is guided by a focus on client strengths and the understanding that they are the expert on their own story. She strives to create therapeutic relationships grounded in safety and respect; a space where clients can gain insight and create healthier ways of living. Melissa knows that moments of levity can be an important part of the healing process and enjoys using humor to bring balance to tough conversations.

A graduate of the University of Michigan’s School of Social Work in Ann Arbor, Melissa has significant experience working with individuals who are healing from trauma, struggle with substance use disorders, wish to improve their self-esteem, or are going through major life transitions. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and incorporates principles from feminist theories, existential psychotherapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into her work.
